Effects SDK updates — Q4 2025: Studio Sound, Portrait Lighting, Linux audio
Q4 2025 added two headline features: Studio Sound and Portrait Lighting. The Web Audio SDK gained a full voice-enhancement chain, the Web Video SDK got studio-style portrait lighting, better beautification and frame-by-frame VideoFrame processing, and the C++ Audio SDK now runs on Linux.
Audio Effects SDK#
Web — 2.5.0: Studio Sound
Studio Sound is a pro-audio chain on top of noise suppression: equalizer, compressor, noise gate, de-esser, automatic gain control, brickwall limiter and level metrics. It makes ordinary microphones sound closer to a studio setup — see Studio Sound and the live demo.
2.4.7 before it reduced memory usage and fixed memory leaks; 2.5.1 brought general fixes.
Windows, macOS and Linux — 1.7.2: Linux x86_64 support and a fix for IPipeline::flush. Release notes
Android — 1.9.0: smaller SDK. Release notes
Video Effects SDK for the web#
3.6.0
- Better beautification ("Touch up my appearance"): stronger by default, more natural face-aware placement, and intensity that changes linearly, so UI sliders feel predictable.
VideoFramein,VideoFrameout — process video frame by frame for integrations that expose frames directly (Zoom Web SDK–style APIs) and for offline processing of recorded video.sdk.destroy()frees all GPU and CPU resources of an instance. Use it when you recreate the SDK in one session: just dropping the reference can leave WebGL/WebGPU contexts alive and cause flicker or GPU memory growth.
3.6.1 — Portrait Lighting
A studio-like light boost with separate strength controls for the person and the background, from a subtle lift to a dramatic look.
3.5.9, 3.6.1 and 3.6.2 fixed a promise hang in Electron custom inference, a race on re-initialization and the unsafe-eval patch, reduced the package size and blocked access to effects before the SDK is ready.
Video Effects SDK for Android — 2.13.0#
Smaller SDK: the OpenCV dependency is gone. Release notes
